Grant B. Stillman has been ADBI's Legal Adviser and Senior Administrative Officer for most of the Institute's existence except for a midcareer sabbatical at the Geneva Institute of International and Development Studies. He has worked as a Wall Street lawyer and for the UN and OECD and is currently Adjunct Professor of International Law and Organizations, and Trade Law at Temple University in Japan. Biography
Grant B. Stillman has been ADBI's Legal Adviser and Senior Administrative Officer for most of the Institute's existence except for a midcareer sabbatical at the Geneva Institute of International and Development Studies. He has worked as a Wall Street lawyer and for the UN and OECD and is currently Adjunct Professor of International Law and Organizations, and Trade Law at Temple University in Japan. Dr. Stillman is admitted to the bars of New York and Australia, and his books include NGO Law and Governance, which has been in ADBI's top 10 downloads since its publication. He has supplied special counsel on the establishment of the African Development Bank's Representative Office in Japan and the CAREC Institute. He earned an LL.M. in international law from the Georgetown University Law Center and holds a Ph.D. degree from Monash University.
He was nominated for inclusion in Who's Who of global professionals for 2018. Throughout his career at the Institute he concurrently served various stints as head of publishing and of knowledge management, outreach and communications, including the creation and launch of Think-Asia.org and ADBIPress. Dr. Stillman's video explainer below has become the most watched on ADBI's YouTube channel and his tips and tools ebooklet as of mid-2020 ranks as the highest all-time downloaded ADBI knowledge product on this site. Over the last 3 years he led ADBI's special unit which produced the frequently-viewed series of animated economic shorts, which are featured here. Dr. Stillman was also in overall charge of production when Think Asia achieved the milestones of its first million downloads and the uploading of over 10,000 knowledge products in the summer of 2019.
